Fantistics for Fantasy Football: privacy
Last updated October 23, 2026
Fantistics for Fantasy Football is a browser extension (first published as Fantistics for Yahoo Fantasy). It makes the lineup changes, adds, drops and waiver claims you choose in the Fantistics web app on your own fantasy football team, on the site your league plays on: Yahoo Fantasy Football or CBS Sports Fantasy. On CBS it can also list your CBS leagues so you can link one, and read your league into Fantistics. It makes a change only when you press a button in Fantistics, and reads a CBS league only when you open it in Fantistics (at most every six hours) or press Refresh there.
Which sites it may act on
Yahoo Fantasy Football is allowed when you install the extension. CBS Sports Fantasy is allowed only after you say so: the first time you link a CBS league or send it a change, the extension opens its own page and asks, and Chrome asks once more. You can take that permission back at any time from your browser's extensions page.
What it reads
- On football.fantasysports.yahoo.com: your team page, or the page for adding a player, in your own browser. It reads them to check that the change you chose can be made, and to make it.
- On your league's football.cbssports.com site: your team's roster, to check that the change you chose can be made and to confirm it afterwards; and, when you open the league in Fantistics and its last read is over six hours old, or press Refresh in Fantistics, your league's rosters, lineups, scores, schedule, standings, rules, draft and the trades waiting in it, which it hands to Fantistics to show you. When you import a CBS league, the same, plus the league's settings page and draft results. It also reads the token the CBS page carries, which CBS requires with every change made from the page; the token is sent back to CBS only and is never stored.
- On www.cbssports.com, when you press Link CBS in Fantistics: the list of your CBS fantasy teams that CBS's own My Teams page shows (each league's name and address, and your team's name), so you can pick the league to link. Nothing else on www.cbssports.com is read.
- On Fantistics pages: the change you chose, which the page hands to the extension when you confirm it. It reads nothing else on those pages.
It reads no other site.
What it sends
- To the league site (Yahoo or CBS): the same request the site's own page sends when you make that change by hand. It goes from your browser, with the sign-in you already have there. Nothing is sent to a league site from Fantistics' servers.
- To Fantistics: whether the change was made; when it was not, a short code saying why, with the detail that goes with it (which seat the site refused, for example); the site's own confirmation or refusal message; the extension's version number; and, if the extension itself fails, a short error note. For a CBS league read or import, the league data listed above; for Link CBS, the list of your CBS football leagues.
What Fantistics keeps
Fantistics keeps a record of each change you asked for and how it came out, with your Fantistics account. It is used to show you the result, to keep the same change from being sent twice, and to count how the feature is used. A CBS league read is kept the way every league Fantistics syncs is kept: the rosters, lineups and scores, with the team that is yours marked, and nothing about the other owners beyond their team names. The trades waiting in the league are kept as a short list, so the Trade Analyzer can show the offers sent to you and the ones you sent.
What it stores in your browser
- The changes already made in the current browser session, so none is sent twice.
- The times of the changes made in the last hour, which is how it limits how many can be sent.
- How the last change came out, which the extension's toolbar window shows.
None of it leaves your browser. No sign-in, token or cookie is stored.
What it does not do
- It does not read or store your Yahoo or CBS password or your cookies.
- It does not run in the background, and it does not check any site except as above: a change or a league to link you asked for, and a read of a CBS league you opened or refreshed in Fantistics.
- It does not collect your browsing history.
- It carries no advertising and no third-party tracking code.
- Your data is not sold. Apart from the request to the league site that makes your change, nothing is shared with anyone outside Fantistics.
Removing it
You can remove the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page. That also removes what it stored in your browser. To ask what Fantistics has on record for your account, or to have it deleted, write to the address below.
